Frequently asked questions
Are all the flats and studios the same?
Travieso 5 is an old building although fully refurbished which is why there are some quirks between floors but the most significant differences are that the flat and studio on the first floor (1-A and 1-B) have access to the building’s patios. No one can enter them except those flats so if you would like to grow some plants these ideal for you.
Studio 3-B on the third floor has the same kitchen as its siblings on floors 1 and 2 although not the sofa and dining table. Instead it has a desk and an outdoor area with a vertical garden and a table for four.
What size are the flats and studios?
You can view detailed floorplans here:
Is the decoration seen in the pictures included?
We’ve kept the most striking elements such as paintings, curtains and wall decorations so you feel at home rather than an empty apartment. That being said you won’t find small objects, bed linens, towels or kitchen utensils as each individual will want to decorate following their needs and tastes. To get a better idea of how each property looks before being decorated you can browse these galleries:
2 Bedroom Flats (1-A, 2-A, 3-A)
Large Studios (1-B, 2-B)
What is the minimum stay?
3 months.
What tenancy pre-requisites must I meet?
Click here to read the pre-requisites.
Is there an intercom in the building?
Yes. Every flat and studio has their own hands free intercom with HD camera and the building entrance can be opened via a numerical code without the need to use a key.
Can I bring my own furniture?
You can bring some small furniture like an ergonomic desk chair, side table or baby cot. What we can’t do is change or remove the existing furniture except in extraordinary circumstances due to not having where to store the items or the manpower to move them to and from.
What type of letting do you do?
In Travieso 5 lettings are “de temporada” which means “seasonal letting” and is coded in Spanish law as lettings that last less than a year and are not permanent living. We rent for over 3 months and less than 1 year although we can renew the contract once it expires and we only charge you for the days you take the flat or studio. To make it fair we divide the monthly amount by days to determine the amount payable per day so if for instance you moved in on the 5th of a given month you wouldn’t pay for the first 4 days of the month.
Do you allow pets?
Generally not, however depending on the circumstances we may make an exception. This would need to be discussed prior to signing the contract as it would make it void to break this rule.
Is smoking permitted?
Smoking is not permitted within the building.
You may smoke outside or on the outside area in Studio 3-B if you are staying there.
Is there a lift?
Unfortunately the building does not have a lift due to its age and the historic area it finds itself in. We would have loved to build one however no project presented to us satisfied the needs due to the building’s original design.
Is there parking?
No. Being in a historic area and a pedestrian zone at that very few buildings in the area have garages although there are several parking’s 2 minutes away on foot where you are able to rent a parking spot:
That being said the best way to move about the city is to make use of public transport, taxis or to use a bicycle or electric scooter (these have become very popular lately and can be rented and purchased at nearby shops).
Is cleaning included in the flats and studios?
Although we do include cleaning of the common areas (stairs/lobbies) according to the La Concejalía de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria y Promoción de la Ciudad we are not allowed to include cleaning services inside the flats/studios due to conflict with the hotel industry. That doesn’t mean that a tenant can’t hire cleaning services through a third party like for instance Radisol, S.L who already know the building.
